as i recall, zbrush 4+ was going full blast on MBP pretty much the second you opened it. you could just let it sit in the foreground, do nothing and fry an egg on the laptop case. and i distinctively remember that CPU hogging not being an issue in 3.12 or thereabouts - earliest OSX port i think is what it was. OP: are you…
[ QUOTE ] A lot of textures has to be scaled down, especially the character textures (but I think the screenshot of DAZ show them with the lowest details on in the engine). [/ QUOTE ] Thanks for the pics and some insight into some of the production problems. Actually though, my screenshots are taken at the absolute highest…
tbh the issues in first post look like a triangulation mismatch between baker and renderer to me. put that turn to poly limited to 3 on top of your stack and use that to bake and rendering (in engine, or max) and as long as the tangentspace is synced (ie. MikkT) it should not happen like that. its a bit odd as it looks…
Probably...I shouldn't have stressed myself too much wondering if my skills will be good enough to land opportunities (like paid work). From my experience, even when there's nothing on the horizon that equals opportunity, if you just keep on working at getting better and being prepared (like having a portfolio to show)…
I know it sounds rough, but this really is a HUGE part of working around any ailment. Don't buy into the disability so to say. I can't affect you more than you let it. In my case, I have genetically terrible muscle balance in my eyes among other things, and as a result I have fits of dyslexia and migraines when I'm tired…
We are a team of three developping low-poly style MOBA, and we are looking for a 3D artist to help us for various texturing/modeling tasks. You could create your own assets or improve the one we are using. The game is already in an advanced stage of development, so it would be an unique opportunity for you to play and test…
Hello everyone, I wanted to ask for some advice from those of you in lead roles or art direction roles about an opportunity that I have recently been fortunate to have access to. I'm currently a senior artist at a big company that is secure, has enough funding, but doesn't allow fully remote work and I'm in the process of…
I was absolutely starstruck meeting all of the other contributors and just had an all around great time. Thanks for being your friendly selves. It went a long way to quelling my personal stresses about being new and inexperienced. My only complaints would have to be how late the invites were sent out to us. Hawf and I…
I started freelance sculpting for print a few months ago, it's pretty exciting but can get a little dull depending on the client. Typically, I charge $20/hour because I'm just starting out and will take a little longer than most, but I'll need to raise my rates a bit when I have more experience. I personally see $20/hour…
The hardware utilization percentages are totally meaningless... theoretically, you could measure how many CPU and GPU cycles are spent working without stalling, how much of the clock cycles of the internal and external buses are used for data transfer, how much memory is left free and so on. We all know it's impossible to…
