What you are seeing is Vertex shading in the Static mesh viewer on UT3. So the light is drawing a shadow from one corner vertex to another based on your smoothing group trying to shade across to faces that are at an angle greater than roughly 45 degrees. You should get decent results is you select your entire model either…
--> this method only makes t so the object makes a glow on other objects, it won't glow into blank space Put a Glare shader into the output slot. This will make any incandescent objects bloom. be carefull ramping the self illumination values up to high they can cause artifacts. I think your tutor was talking about humans…

I'm not sure you can get phase shift outside of 90 degree angle without using custom nodes. Adding or subtracting a scalar value wouldn't work because you would need to have those values change too during time to match the phase. Anyway if you wan't to get 90,180,270 shift it's fairly easy. For 180 just use 1-x on sin, for…
I'm seeing seams in the lighting when I try to render cube maps in V-Ray. The cubes are for architectural vis for a client. Does anyone know of a better workflow for this? I've animated a camera to point in the six cube directions, and then render six frames. But I get this, as shown in Cubemapgen, with a stripped-down…
Hi everyone! First of all, my apologies for the huge delay of this script, but I was kinda busy the past few months with finding a job and some other personal work... Past few days I've finally found the time to start finishing this! So, what changed? I added a few more complex patterns to choose from.…
Yeah I start off with a CV curve that only has 5 points and move those about. I rebuild and smooth it to make sure its... smooth. Later i turn it into polygons so I can use boolean. I'm not so good with nurbs. The way I see it is its got to hit these three points and still remain a smooth dome. -the top of the dome in the…
