Workin' on some crap for Dota. This is turning out to be really good hard surface practice. Using subdivision weights makes life so much easier when doing this kind of thing. Adding a bunch of support loops is a thing of the past unless I want really smooth shape transitions. <3 Modo + Catmull-Clark SubD
So much amazing stuff around here...so inspiring guys! Keep it up! A few days ago I jumped into hand painting stylized textures even if I can't draw at all...result so far (WIP). Just plain diffuse. Maybe going to make a practice thread...I've heard it helps :D
this is an old work in progress, and since i had some practice in Keyshot i imported the model today to do some renders. hope u like. ;D http://i.imgur.com/Tsd390w.jpg http://i.imgur.com/qfx8GfR.jpg http://i.imgur.com/3vVdjO2.jpg http://i.imgur.com/UJva0IJ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/GzBQKZs.jpg http://i.imgur.com/3wz8Bf5.jpg
Amazing work guys! @airage: that P22 looks really sick! Great work! Inspired by this awesome thread I couldnt resist to try this amazing Gears of War stuff myself... Just pure practice so I didnt design stuff myself...orginal authors of the models I used designs from are Kevin Johnstone, Paul Svoboda and Paul Mandegarian!
Wow, with so much awesome work this pages it feels awkward to post my random practice sculpts! Always loved darksiders style and lately I've been trying to learn proper sculpting in zbrush(only used zbrush for random cracks/cuts b4, not to actually sculpt). Here is my first try starting from a Zsphere and looking at a…
Hi! I have quite a while watching your amazing works guys, I'm new in the modelling thing mainly beacuse in my country there isn't ways to learn so I try to learn on my own. I'm starting to practice in ZBrush and this is what I got so far! (Sorry for my bad english!! I learning that alone too!)
@CaptainDrill I think my biggest visual issue with this concept/blockout is that it's extremely impractical. I know it's a design challenge and not actually about practicality, but for me, I can't help but think how impractical it would be for a knight to have giant towers on each shoulder. Are you allowed to do something…
Since I am still a beginner, I decided to take a shot at modeling all four of these axes from Randy Cushman's concept. I thought it turned out to be a fun little experiment. There aren't as fleshed out as a final prop would be, but since I am merely using these as practice, I am content with the state that there are in. I…
Very very nice Devan, a very hard post to follow :P x-post from my thread, some practice :3 Worked a bit more into this one tonight, gonna leave it at this and get back to other stuff for now. Was great fun though as I've never really tried to create a female face before... might turn it into a character in future :3…
This was originally from the character challenge back in January. I decided to pick it up again since I hadn't finished it. Sculpted in ZBrush and I baked down the lighting information as a base. As of now it's just a diffuse map so I can practice painting. I should also mention it's not done yet as I'm working on hair now…
