truth. Also, I'm a bit late to the party, but the first item that I submitted made it into the game (how that happened, I have no idea since it was utter shit) and nothing since :( Some transparency from Valve would be amazing, I really loved how they commented on each of the Polycount winners, made it clear what they…
You can either go into ZBrush with a model that has an acceptable polycount from Maya or Max and paint detail onto it. Or you can make your model in ZBrush and retopo it for Maya or Max. To get normals and ao, etc: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHAfcIihcDU"]Zbrush 4 - How To Use MULTI MAP EXPORTER - YouTube[/ame]
I'd rather not use that thing again; my last use of it was during the Polycount contest in October. It works, just not for what I really need. I suppose a better way of posing my question is why are all the normals mapping tutorials for adding detail? I can't even use them because using the same model doesn't generate…
started a set for Faceless Void, should have something to show in a couple of days, gettin back into my workflow... poppin' in here just to say I made a Polycount chat channel in Dota2 if anyone wants to play or chat while in game. Also, when did they add chatting to your channels from in-game? that's awesome... but they…
@Oroboros I prefer not to. Saw that some people form here worked with him. I don't know if they had the same agreement. I know that those polycounters would on the spot be put into bad light. Thats not the thing I would want. All I wanted was put a notice here, both to warn others, and maybe get to know your opinions.
@PerfectPencil Hey! I recognize you from reddit! Anyway, yes, you should be able to. If you make the scabbard, just skin it to the bone that his hip has, and skin the sword to the weapon bone like normal. THe only issue is they'd both have to be very low on detail because the polycount is very low, and you'd have to spread…
Anytime damio Also "or double the polycount" Sorry to say but the Dota2 importer currently has a few issues with counting polys correctly, but Triangle count is the number you should be aiming for as game engines are going to triangulate your mesh. May as well see what your getting in your viewport, rather than surprised…
Didn't valve release their testing application with dota 2? I remember it coming up in a recent update and posts in polycount but I didn't really bother investigating further. EDIT: I couldn't find the post. :( But I remember it was something along the lines of -- Valve has a private testing application to test heroes and…
Hello everyone, I am new to polycount and i have a question,- if i have a lowpoly models and i need someone to paint or sculpt the highpolys of it, because i cant. Will someone collaborate with me? Is it a usual offer, or it is too bold? I ask an advice because dont want to be ashamed, bu i really want to see some of my…
Awesome work guys! And offcourse doubleleaf for his great chest design! I really hope I got something inside the chest :) Also it would be great to see a next chest in a few months with items from the polycount contests, although the best items will probably be ingame before the chest will come out so I'm really wondering…
