3DsMax [Rigging] is point helper necessary ?
Okay, First of all thank you for taking your time visiting my simple thread Just a quick question everyone, Is poin helper necessary ? when we could located pivot directly to object then do orientation / position constraint to control curve without any poin helper ? Thank you, I need some advice from experienced user -

Max influences should be set to 4, but I'm not sure if that's your problem or not. More than likely you have a lot of dirty history on the object or forgot to freeze transforms before binding the skin. What kind of rig are you using? Do you have any constraints? -

Don't stop man! it didn't take me to long to do that simple texture I got, yours is much larger model sure but even a base texture will bring it to life. Even if you don't finish the texture in time, that's a amazing model, especially considering the time constraints. -

Yeah I dont think you can do this unless you go to the local rotation axis and manually set it. Might be able to orient constraint it with a locator. What i do is have a seprate button for freeze transform with scale, rotate and transform and one all in one -

Nope, i did not use creasing, simply turned on edge constraint and moved the verts to get the sharpness i wanted. For the depth, i tweaked the mesh in 3/4 view based on the 3/4 reference, the shadows in that area gave me an idea on how deep it should be. -

For me, I'm capping myself at 2 hours max a day. It's not going to be the best work I can possibly do, but imo, it's a challenge, and that's kind of point, seeing what you're made of. Go as far as you can go within your time constraint and schedule. There's nothing stopping anyone from improving the model after the month… -

Slowly Working on this! Trying to not deviate too much from the concept whilst making sure the one shot is correct. I aim to get this scene working with this one camera angle and maybe a few others just to make sure i meet time constraints. ALso tried using handplane and its pretty sweet for its bake times -

Something that you might think about is joining a monthly/weekly community challenge and use that as a deadline for yourself. Contests are also great projects for hard deadlines. I think it's important to at least try and get in the habit of working under time constraints. Because that's what you will be expected to do at… -

Here are some more shots of my truck, I'm not too happy with the texturing but unfortunately I was under time constraints. Tried to get all the textures done in less than a week. I used one 4096 map for everything, but I'm not too sure if having one huge map or more smaller ones is ideal. Anybody know the answer to that?
