It's looking great! I think you could push her splits in the air pose some more. Let her feet hang out for an extra beat. In fact I think a lot of the most extreme poses could be pushed further, just for that extreme keyframe, and then back to something more relaxed to give it some pop.
@Ericewell: I'm also a big fan of their humor. I spent a bunch of time moving around and composing the characters which was the challenging part. Once I started the line work, its auto-pilot, chill time. This is the most relaxing type of art for me. I probably spent about 15 hrs on the line drawing.
Hey guys looks like I abandoned this place for a while, but here I am and there's awesome things to show you. Let's start with the Radish in the Bathub https://www.artstation.com/artwork/rk1EE This art for the "fast" model production practice take me 5 hours, but looks really relaxed.…
Hey scott thanks. I can't change the hand positions unfortunately, all the characters use the same base mesh and have the same hands. Are you sure people prefer them straight? I thought relaxed was best. I think I'm going to have to keep coming back to the arms and look harder for more refrences.
So did I, they seem very awkward, and the guy in the video seemed to struggle with them as well. It would have made more sense to have a "conform" button that simply makes all editable poly tools (like relax) conform to the surface of an object. The brush-based system is just weird... The new UV tools are nice though!
quick iteration after work. now to some drawings to relax ma head. :ears pushed forward, widened chin, defined nose cartilage ,added hair (lulz) learning alot, the slower i take it. befor i used to rush but shoot if i get my hours reduced all i have is time.
Ey! I miss this thread! Stay a while! Relax you're edges! Pull up a primitive and sit down! We have so many yo-mama jokes you're going to need a scene organizer! Yo mama so round you need a 1024 edged cylinder to get a good bake off of her!
I use Topogun on a pretty much daily basis, and I still like it. My problem with 3D coat was that there was no way to pin border edges (it's been ages since I last used it though, so this may have changed). I use Topogun's relax brush a lot, which works great with pinned edges.
She is definitly colourfull. I get the feeling that she is a bit of a hardened veteran at this and doesn't care too much about other people. The way she casually moves. Very relaxed and knows she's right. Perhaps you should also give her the matching slang/outback accent to her speech. The glowing veins are lovely.
That's because you enabled the 'Keep UV and edit mode selection in sync' function. Disable it and the faces are not loose anymore. You can find a relaxing brush under UV's -> UV Sculpt -> Hold Shift to smooth. And Minimie Stretch helps, too. There are plenty of options. One tip for unwrapping - search for TexTools for…
