This tree is coming along very nicely. I appreciate you explaining your process on creating the wrapping affect around the tree. It took me a minute to understand it. Keep up the great work.
model wrapped up rigging on this character with the pose test, might prep him for going up as a rig on Gumroad if anyones interested. UPDATE: up on Gumroad now: https://gumroad.com/l/nAaZq
Cheers, I've added some arm wraps and boots today; also worked on the clothing, added his nipples and gave him some varcus veins: I've also tweaked his mouth:
i would look into redoing the cowl. it's made from a discarded shoulder cape, so it's supposed to be a rectangular shape wrapped round him, not one looped piece of fabric like you've sculpted.
I think another way to tackle this would be to use Wrapping within Zbrush, you can find it under Brush and then the Curve tab. Just adjust the slider to get your brush to tile.
I agree with Brian, you could really add geometry to make those wraps visible, also 8 sided handle is cool but it could use bevel to catch some nice reflects.
You can also use the Skin Wrap modifier, to transfer the weight from one mesh to another. I use it extensively whenever I need to mess around in already skinned meshes
For Week 2 we started making some clothing for our character. This is my first time in Marvelous Designer so there's a lot I'm still learning and trying to wrap my head around :)
