OK, so Hbevel and solidBevel are working much better in Maya 2017. Thanks! I am wondering if it might be possible to also run solidBevel on a selection of edges. For the blend of the cylinder to the cube, I set all edges to soft, marked the intersection sharp, and ran solidBevel. Then I made some quick adjustments to the 8…
You should go over the shapes one more time, some of them doesn't match the Chargers to 100%. The roof (by the rear window) is quite sharp and strange. Take a look at this picture and see if you can match it better. Also the rear window should be wider. The sideview has some flow errors as well, take a look at this picture…
Hey R4ptur3, In general would you say for every 90 degree-ish, or sharp-like edges its best to split the UV's to create its own shell? I'm aware of the wasted Lightmap UV space that is created by having more UV shells/islands. And that higher resolutions in the Lightmap may be required to compensate for the additional…
LOTS of awsome advice here guys. I'm really excited to rework and meet everyones expectations :) and Alec, I can create a smoothed edge anywhere its needed. Just run the smoothing brush over any edge and it will soften. I'm guessing the slide was one of the most noticable? : That i just masked what i wanted to stay sharp,…
fuck. yes. dude the quality at which you sculpt at is insane. so sharp, smooth, detailed, i love it. i totaly love the hand.. i think his head is a little small, and i think that his anatomy isn't exactly appealing as compared to the sharper cuts on his face-- he's got this really cool sharp, small detail feeling going on…
Heya JeeVz, did you make a high-poly model for this or is it just the low-poly and textures? If you didn't, you should definitely consider doing so since baking down from high poly models is pretty much the standard these days for significant assets like this. Either way, you should give more consideration to the edges on…
From a high poly piece of art I think a lot of it looks good, but for the sake of projecting normal maps I think you are going to have some issues with the sharpness of a lot of it overall. The smoke grenade, and the dumpster both seem to have a lot of very sharp angles that won't translate as well to baked down normals.…
Hah - Im not bad Master Shotty ... haven't had time to shoot the shit on MSN lately ... deadline for the game is Friday though so it will be fun, fun, fun after that! I knew you would have something to say about the hand anatomy guy! The rig I had to pose it with was a specific size, and so I had to soft-select the…
Hello everyone! I’m happy to share the final result of this material I’ve been working on for some time now. It’s a mosaic material for which I also created two variant sets of textures to make the in-context presentation shots. Hope you like it! Here’s the ArtStation post where you can find a few more shots from the…
im trying to find my Art style so im creating my own "base mesh" for style that will work as a model before my paint goes on. i know i like very sharp edges it feels alot easier to paint my sculpt if most of the lines are already there. However its not as crispy as i would want, and i think its very time taking to Polish…
