That's probably z-fighting, where the precision of the z-buffer is too small. If this is a Perspective view, right click on the viewport name and turn on Viewport Clipping, then adjust the two triangles at far right, see if that helps. User view is another option, not ideal of course.
Maya 6 is much improved regarding viewing normal/spec/bump maps in the viewport windows. You just have to switch on "high quality" in the individual views. You can (finally) also see vertex lighting much like you will in-game.
Latest model. Going back and forth referencing on different things, I realized perspective view and non-perspective view threw me off on the lize of the lower lip (I think)... Besides that obvious flaws, anyone has some suggestions on this model?
The OP said they didn't want to switch viewports. Another way without switching would be to change the Reference Coordinate System to World instead of View. But that doesn't work in all views (Top, Bottom, I'm looking at you)
Depends on how big this thing will be, if viewed from a bit of a distance, you could possibly get away with opac maps like a normal tree branch, but if viewing from a bit closer, I would model them.
try to keep the camera's field of view low when taking close up shots of the face . something like 15-30 as close up shots come out distorted and goofy looking with high field of view
Great model and concept choice. The only thing I can see is that the backside (gluteus) Is a bit strange from the back view. In the front view the hip size looks good, just the rear. Not exacly sure what it is.
Hey nathaniel! Nice to see you around here :) Awesome work. I'd love to see more shots of some of those guns. Those smaller views don't do them justice. Particularly the Kar90 in-view.
i noticed that too. If I move maya to the 2nd view the right click menu disappears as well. It seems like since the 2nd view is an extended desktop, maya probably is only designed to run on the primary desktop.
