Personal experience, carrying a tripod around and re-positioning it 30 times to get a scan of a wall will get old, consider the Olympus OM-D EM-5 Mark II, it kicks ass in a variety of ways -cheap -5 stops IBIS (ditch your tripod) -fold out articulating screen, take portrait orientation photos at low or high angles easily… -

I had an issue with 5 minute load times with Max 2011-2014. But mine was because my SSD hard drive was not set to AHCI mode in the bios (took several years to figure it out). The solution in this post fixed it, and all those versions of Max magically boot quickly now. You didn't mention an SSD so this may not be the issue.… -

while probably seen as a limitation to our freedom.. the only people I've ever seen with lots of kids (like, 5+), are people in trailer parks or ghetto type environments. Which boggles my fucking mind - how do they afford it?, and then most of the time their children grow up (aka to 16-17) and have 5+ of their own. not… -

Oh damn... Really? I've been using Max2010 myself, and I had no corrupted .MAX as of yet. I've had some corrupted files in the past tho, but I always managed to recover my work, and I never loose more than 5 minutes of work, cos I use the .BAK, next to your .MAX file, and rename that .bak to .max, and you'll have a version… -
