Hi Guys! me and a friend from work have decided to give this a go as it sounds so cool. I have just put a ref board together for now and thats about it. I will post more of a backstory at some point but the main thing that we want to achieve is a some sort of sci-fi vehicle with a 50's 60's feel and a pin-up style female…
I´m exporting between maya and max, it has worked fine up until now but the model I am currently trying to import to max is freaking out. It´s fine until I try to make it into an editable poly. Once i do that this happens(look at pic). It´s not that I have any history left on the model from maya and the faces are not…
Wow, interestingly good thread. I think that out of everyones postings here so far, Rosrshach has the best understanding of the game industry. Its a matter of perspective when it comes to what people would like to see done with a game. Many artists ideals would include great game play and aesthetic, while the business…
Cool, looks like a Stalker MMO with zombies. Also WOW Arma2 pack is top seller on Steam lol. That`s pretty amazing for a one man MOD for a game that probably sold like 2 copies in the past 2 years :D Couldn`t help but buy it myself just to see what`s all the fuss is about.
I've noticed the end two colors are 100% S / 70% B yet the middle colors are 50% S / 100% B Is this intentional? Is saturation important, or is it just value and hue? If saturation is important, than what roll does it play? I understand hue is derived from the values and the values are derived from the enviromental…
Well I think the texture work is very awesome. The design is nice and it reminds me of something that would have been used in a show from the late 70's or early 80's. I mean that as a compliment by the way. The interior doesn't look as finished as the rest and the hatch could use more texture work too. Good job.
CaptainBlasto Thanks! That is an amazing list. Ill certainly be referring back to it. Im going to try to explain our thoughts, so far, on the different aspects you outlined. We are planning on having one character model for the main character, but with the option to change hair style/facial hair but limiting it to…
AFAIK the beige look was due to some ergonomics standards that were in effect until not all that long ago. not everyone followed them though, at least in the workstation camp you could find grey or black equipment in the 90's. wish i could locate that picture now of my early 2000's desk with the sgi o2. perhaps if i bump…
Its all relative. If you model all at 1/10 of their size it will look real. Same goes if you double everything's size. It starts to look of if you model for example the plane at 1/10th of its size and the airfield at twice it`s size. Of course its not only about the models but for example the height of the player`s camera…
