I would like to try the hard surface challenge but think the current concept is a bit bland. the 09-11/16 was also an arc corp interior which has been made and put into a game. maybe another concept which hasn't been made in 3D? a few suggestions: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/3mXnA…
kurt_hectic, there are several things that may cause issues, but yes 16-bit normal map may help. See: http://polycount.com/discussion/148303/of-bit-depths-banding-and-normal-maps I'm not a mod but you'll get a better response if you start your own thread instead of replying to a 9-month-old post. Good luck.
Butcher and Mop are right with regards to the models. Texture-wise, you'd only use Targas if you need to imbed an alpha channel for transparency. Otherwise, you should use a bmp with a pallette of 256 colours, or ideally 16 if you can get away with it. Texture memory is extremely limited on the DS, so you always need to be…
what the heck this sucks, how does straight up painting run like ass???? like in a 1000px image my brush lags like hell with just a circular brush. This is on a dual core w/ 16 GB of ram. tried turning on aero and 1 monitor, nothing helps :( not to mention 3d painting is slow as well. cmon adobe.
Woah, I sit corrected, did not know Gears of War had multiplayer...I don't mean to come off as a prick Jelmer, though I think the shots you posted were an unfair comparison. This seems pretty comparable to Gears of War: http://img2.kult-mag.com/photos/00/00/60/16/ME0000601614_2.jpg
Both incorrect. It's in 4x4 blocks (16 pixels). DXT only stores two colors per block and interpolates the others, using 2 intermediate colors for DXT1, and either 4 or 6 (can't recall) for DXT2/3/4/5. Edit... made a quick edit of the page. Super busy, working the weekend in fact, but hope to add more later.
I used 14-16 sides on the cylinders. I did some quick calculations and found out that I would have more than enough polys with that number of sides. I'm more used with models around 3000 polys so I probably went overboard on this. Thanks, will redo the shoulder, I wasn't sure about it myself.
Then don't make bolts with unnecessary chamfers and closed geometry and with 16 sides. You need to address the open booleans you got going there. 30 sided polygons aren't a great idea. I would also suggest that the blood on both the wooden handle and the metal blades aren't so color saturated. Especially on the wood where…
The EB by me got 16, employees were only allowed to have 2. So there were 14. I waited 2 hours for a preorder. Figured it was better than waiting in Nov overnight. Resistance has me hooked for it. A few people at work were allowed to preorder Wii as well. Although most stores around here weren't doing that.
So I heard this hilarious point on the Sick and Wrong Podcast; http://www.sickandwrongpodcast.com/ #16; "So if a teen commits a violent act, they have to blame Doom or Marylin Manson, but when old folks commit a violent crime, no one is blaming the violent murders on Matlock!" I know there's similarly great statements…
