Hello, I think we have a problem related to this topic and we're discussing it here: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=137918 May I ask you why you need that FBX? Perhaps it's the same reason why we need it too: export material IDs from Maya/3dsMax and load them in DDO with something like the old "material…
3dmotive is great. Eat3d is also quite good. A lot of artists are selling tutorials on gumroad now http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=137585 Also the Polycount wiki has a ton of free information.
what kind of automatic tools have you tried mop? http://codesuppository.blogspot.com/2006/04/approximate-convex-decomposition.html there is supposed to be a implementation for this also I found http://portal.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=1375749 which was rather new
For a while I was struggling to get decent grass physics but today I feel this is reasonably decent. This is by no means perfect but it's a start, though a bit of a hack job. Getting used to Physx in UE4 was a pain... and with no softbody support at the moment which makes things a bit trickier! [vv]137687641[/vv]
Convert all your images to JPG, I hate PNGs (they take forever to load!!) The favela environment looks pretty good, but living in the biggest brazilian city (Sao Paulo) I've seen a couple of favelas in my life and i got some critics for environment (not sure if you are going to work on it more though) - Dumpsters don't…

I know all of that, hehe ;) As I said in my other "Yet another newcomer" thread, I'm with max since 1 year now and I think I know most of the tools necessary. I should realy have a basic understanding how to create a model, forming a base mesh was obvious but I hoped the traceing method would be faster. If youre intrested…
This is a great start. I love this kind of work. We were just talking about toon-style fx yesterday at work (I'm an environment artist working on a mobile game). You should take a look at the fx in Gigantic. http://polycount.com/discussion/137269/gigantic/p1 Also, if this is for a 3D game you should think about how your fx…
Made a script some years ago that might be useful. It was before textools but i still find it useful. The code is probably dirty, not protected, slow, and terrible and just for me but it does the job. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/13762052/polycount/UvRotateur.mcr Category "Noors" Select your uvs and hit…
