In my culture people are told to do what they hate doing. I take it as you need to make some compromise, not slaving all the way. Yeah, like Eric said you could embrace it.
Thanks Eric :P Willllllllll doooooooooooooooooooo... I just don't have a lot of time to make it beautiful... I definitely will polish it up over break and put it in UDK and maybe in my folio :P
would if i could :D thanks guys, ive decided to compile one using a sky cubemap and a fisheye photo like the one Eric posted. hopefully ill get some decent results :)
Thanks Eric Chadwick Looks like you need shaderfx to use the shader you point to. Cant get that to work in my version of max. Ug :) SOLVED: my gpu does not support dx11
I am not using an external program. The models I've baked thus far haven't had any issues. So this is odd for me. Eric, I'll check Backface Culling and get back to this post.
Hey Eric, Tech-Artists was my next begging ground. I've not posted there since 2012... hopefully they'll forgive me. If I find a solution I'll make sure to update this thread.
Indeed, this works better! Thank you, Eric. From now on I'll try to get similar curvature maps for my models. Would appreciate a quick guide on working with highpoly meshes in the Quixel's Wiki :)
Thanks Eric! It was one of those days that makes you go "yeah! this feeling is why I'm an artist!" ;) ------------------------ Trying out a bit of a new style today...when I should be finishing other pieces. >.>
@Eric Chadwick Thanks man, I just popped a premade material on there and pulled the sliders a bit, but yeah it looks a bit metal like, Lowering the refraction index seems to lower the metallic look of the surface.
Awesome Eric. Can't wait to see what you guys do. Myself... i'll bow out this year. I'm not going to pretend I'll even get close to doing a sketch a day. Will be watching!
