Yeah, anatomy is a bit off, if you are aiming realistic style. Are you using ref? To correct is not difficult, make a paintover and fix proportions. About Z tutorials, internet is full of them, specially in Youtube. Are you looking for something specific?
_gir is correct, get the anatomy and proportions correct before bothering with the details, even the mid-level details. There's a lot to correct in what you have right now, take a look at some realistic references, even if her figure will be stylized.
Use construction lines or underdrawing to guide the features. Or, if you're not too proud to use modern 21st century drawing techniques, use a head basemesh or scan to easily help you solve any or all of your anatomy drawing needs.
A little update, started to add main color scheme and edited a bit the anatomy, but I'm still not sure if it's correct. I feel something awkwardly with her but not sure if it's just my first attempt at a different body type or is there something wrong.
Thanks! I'm gonna do all the detailing at the end when I have the shading, colours and lighting locked down. That's my favorite part! x) Still wanna play around a bit more with the shadows and fix the anatomy on the wings.
Decent start! Arm anatomy needs more work. I don't believe that looks like a real human forearm. The pectorals aren't defined well. I'd recommend going back into the sculpt and nailing your muscle and bone landmarks.
Ok, I changed a lot of things, it's barely the same character anymore. So I lowered the polycount of the face to 10k triangles, optimized the UVs to have more rez on the face, redid the pores and fixed some anatomy issues in the face.
+1 Its easy to get stuck in a feedback loop on a sculpt, especially with anatomy sculpting I find. Sometimes youve just gotta learn to stop making tweaks, have confidence in your own ability and start polishing it off.
It's blobby, doesn't have any clear defined shapes. Instead of making everything smooth and round, add some interesting shapes here and there. And like Andrew said, take note of the anatomy of real animals. Such as the inset fins, and that their mouths are 'longer'.
Also, the anatomy of the body is kind of off, the body seems a bit too small for the head, and the arms look too small even for the body. Right now where you have the belly button should be the bottom of the ribs I think.
