No, just add an extra edge loop around that hole. It also depends on the size of the holes as compared to the radius of the cylinder.

It shouldn't give you a huge difference. In fact, 32 should give an easier time distributing edge loops.

Why didn't you just make horizontal edge loops for those 2 lone verts and remove that triangle?

Not to mention adding a loop in between 2 sections of the initial cylinder you'll break the curvature of it. More geo buddy!

Not perna, but this allows you to use the natural edges of curvature of the cylinder as control loops without adding any geometry.

If you dont have evenly distributed loops on a cuirved surface it will be visible. Ever tried opensubdiv and creasing or quadchamfer?

You're way overthinking this Shingami. The wires are right there. Just line up the edge loops on the meshes and connect the dots.

nothing wrong with that, you just need to make sure that you have the supporting loops at the right places and thikness would help too
