Hello Polycounters, I'm currently working on a 3D environment project in my graduate program, and I wanted to share my journey through this project with the Polycount community! I work a lot with Maya, but I have used very little Zbrush and Unreal. I hope to use this thread as an opportunity to better my skills with Maya,…
Good progress @baraa_odeh! Here are a few things I'm struggling with here: 1. Aerial perspective, mist, water and sky I think you are missing the fact that they are all the same. The sky is "blue" because there are water droplets in the air refracting the incoming light. And both mist and general aerial perspective are an…
Are you using a base mesh. I think you would learn more from starting from a sphere or other primitive. else you will most of the time end up with a similar shape like you have now. I don't see that many differences between the sculpts. I'm doing a challenge like this myself. I'm sculpting some piece of anatomy myself…
Some really nice progress coming along from everyone here. Just a quick question. I've finally got some time to sit down and carry on with this challenge and want to start creating some tiling textures. I've watched a few videos, particularly the ones from the guy who did this one [ame="…
Thank you for the feedback, When i do my paint over and improvements i will have to look back into the character design again and create a Much similar character to the original with out the steam punk look. Just do the change over to the female with out the additional features. But i thought it be more challenging this…
Thanks Makkon. I cant speak to the final look of the map, as that was dictated by others, but I definitely agree with the vegetation crit. I had just started playing around with making game ready ivy from ivy generator plugin for 3ds Max. I got some decent results, but it was already late in the process after the map had…
It no longer crashes straight away when I try to bake, good job! I suggest you find a way to automatically handle the popups that are related to missing color profiles. Not only do they require a whole lot of confirmations from me to continue baking, but sometimes they don't get pushed to the front and it looks as if the…
I'm progressing great in my japanese studies with rosetta 3. I also used it to learn (very) basic french last year. (never got past the "language basics" lessons) If you're dedicated to learning the language it's worth the money, and it will be cheaper than classes by far! I enjoy the process of learning, its more…
