Yui - Spec Ops Cat
hey Polycount! this is my latest personal project: Spec Ops cat! i did it to get out of my comfort zone (which is mostly medieval-fantasy themed). It was a challenge to wrap my head around hardsurface design principles, but the end result was worth the effort. -

yea, it's real. Like I said it happened right around here, I know all of the places they are talking about in the podcast. it's a very difficult case to wrap your head around, somewhat unnerving actually. -

Some updates. Trying to get the sword wrapped up tonight or tomorrow, feeling pretty good overall though for my first real hand painted prop. Also thanks for the feedback and comments so far! -
Re: WIP Hand painted textures
Really good improvement. Completely unrelated to the textures, but I wish the model was better and the textures fit better on it. IE: The way the roof texture kind of wraps around and falls off. Also the stretching on the well structure. -
Re: "Active" offset/tile in PS?
Last time I checked it was not interactive. Paint on the left edge and it wraps around and paints on the right side. So many other crappy 2D apps have this but they've never put it in... why adobe why!?
