You can still do cool, creative stuff with boring real life technology! Like, the year is 2015, and astronauts in hastily modified, armored spacesuits are fighting with modified 70s caseless assault rifles on the moon. You could probably mix dinosaurs in there too. Dinosaurs are real.
Forgot to post to this thread but I consider her (and the gun) finished, still taking suggestions about things that I can keep in mind for the future :) https://timoliverhaag.files.wordpress.com/2015/12/newrender2.png Viewer and sketchfabs of both are at my artstation (linked in my signature and in the main entry).
The T-meter down the street reads 105 F (low 40s C) midday and 100% humidity is pretty much a given here. The sweat beads on your forehead about 5 seconds after leaving your AC'd sanctuary. Give me dry heat anyday...
VGCats is great I wish they came out on a more regular basis, still every Monday I hit the site and it almost never fails to kick the week off with a really good laugh. This one is my all time favorite. http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=115
No , I meant not making small bumps by connecting "normal" node but rather putting very low contrast (around 0,5 gray) textures of different maybe inverted gradients to channels of normal map itself . With rgba combine node. Starting from only single channel at first
you can also use transfer attributes to do this - https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/maya-lt/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2015/ENU/MayaLT/files/Mesh--Transfer-attributes-htm.html This is how I would usually do custom normals for trees and plants.
I don't think this is the case, but just to rule out the possibility of it being too weak to show up. Try multiplying your normalmap in the material with a constant 3-vector with these settings: R: 3 G: 3 B: 0.5 If it doesn't show up now, then it's simply not there at all :)
now we can extrude edge like max and solid chamfer with this https://github.com/Byron/bsuite. it works with maya 2015. can someone with experience C++ maya plugin compile it so it works with maya 2016? i think he share the source code too.
Noors : I'm not exactly in Nantes (30 kms south), but for the price you pay, I rent a 115 sqm house with 300 sqm garden :D and I'm 1 hour drive from the ocean. But yeah Nantes is a very nice city, I go there quite often.
Ah thank you, i didn't see that on the wiki. What do you think about the latest GMH release? Does it use the same techniques? it looks about so. Except easier. http://www.polycount.com/2015/05/13/gmh-2-6/#more-16502
