Try toning down the Ambient Occlusion in the scene, I think it's far too heavy as is. Your lighting is a bit too simplistic at the moment too. Perhaps having a knocked-over desk lamp behind the counter, or some busted light fittings hanging from the ceiling would help? It's looking sweet so far though! :D
@Konstruct: Thanks for the advice, I busted a few bits and bobs and tried to make things a little less straight like the pipes, stairs and corrugated metal. @GCMP: I'm from Nottingham. I'm calling this done as I've got to move on, any more feedback would be appreciated though as I know the scene is far from perfect.
Nice slideshow windows, I love being able to page through and see all your pieces one by one, and the alternate view links are great as well. But I think a few of the window "next/previous" links are busted. Try clicking through everything to see if it works right. A good start for a good portfolio. /jero
Yes. You just have to be willing to work hard to get your skills to an appropriate level. And by "work hard," I mean "bust your ass, kid, this shit ain't easy and it takes a hell of a lot of effort." If you don't like the idea of doing a lot of work to get good at something, then this field isn't for you.
Hope you get better quick Adam! Glad it didn't turn out worse than it already did. I busted my right wrist in high school and had 3 months to learn how to draw with my left hand so I know how it feels like to lose ability in the talent hand.
I also looked at some of my past works and I have two more characters I'll be posting, one is a real life girl I modeled (Just a bust version) and the other is a more detailed cartoon guys face. I'll be posting those two with the addition of my environmental models I'm rendering right now.
muchos better man, digs it ^^ still would opt for a 3d samurai times button on the front page and just keep the 2d pic button for the 2d section, reads better in my mind at least :3 gotta bust out all them top secret awsome projects and throw them up too :poly142:
Thanks a lot shotgun :) So wednesday was a bust. Off work with a migraine, i tried to colour something but i failed miserably so it got binned. Thursday's is here, and today's i accidentally forgot to send to myself from work, yay. The weekend is clear though, and i've borrowed the cintiq from work. Time to art!
Awesome work, I really like your control over your line sketches. You might try to improve line weight; it's a good exercise to get into if you haven't already. Also even though that bust is a study, I really feel the emotion you put into it, as conveyed by the dramatic lighting. Keep up the good work!
Currently, you recalibrate the Kinect by covering it up totally then uncovering it. That's how the software works. So if you just cover it, it just idles until it's uncovered. Besides, how many of you still use Skype with no regards to this?…
