Salutations community, This is my first challenge and post of any kind on Polycount. I'm coming out of a long 3D/art hiatus, as this competition seems to be calling to me- thanks Allegorithmic! (Not just because I'm a big Game of Thrones fan) Programs I plan to use - 3ds Max Sculptris Zbrush 4 Photoshop CC 2014 Most…
I hate open file dialog in max , It's ancient from around windows NT with always wrong files sorting and extra headache . So I usually just drop an object to viewport. Is there a way to make it keeping its world XYZ position ? It seems random when you drop a file vs do proper import.
poop: I just eyeballed it on that yoda...the way it appears is actual size...I painted very quickly and small...actually just got a new monitor, so I'm getting better color results on my art now, I had an ancient monitor that was fading and color shifting, so glad to finally be rid of it....
Wanted to have a career doing something PC related and started with web design but quickly got bored, always had a passion for games so started thinking about a career in the industry. Picked up 3DS Max (think it was version 7 or something pretty ancient) and spent days tinkering with it, working on mods, etc.
I used to run a dual monitor setup with an AGP nvidia 5 series and a pci Voodoo 3. Window dragging works just fine between them, but obviously 3d performance isn't consistent between the two. 2d performance was just fine, even on the ancient Voodoo. Ran PS on that and 3d apps on the nvidia.
Cool to see the ancients chattering here... I always thought they were dead. Hi Malekyth! Lame about the lady stuff. I'll keep my ear to the ground for animation work if you'd like, just let us know if i should ping some people. (not that you'd have any problems anyway) ;)
Yeah, definitly this will have to show the whole capability of the UE4. :D I haven't changed the idea of the statues, just haven't drawn them yet. They will be placed as in the 3D sketch in one of my previous posts. The theme will be something like ancient castle with high tech elements. :) Thank you all for the nice…
Ooh yeah, stavkirks are awesome! I wanted to model one someday too. Did you know a death metal guy, "Burzum", from Norway burned some of those down? I think including one of the oldest ones in Norway? What an ass, they are ancient and incredible works of art. Cool stuff in this thread.
solid base so far. It's near impossible to tell he's a samurai at this point though. he needs some more traditional clothes and a more Japanese face. here's my inspiration board thing. I'm going for somekind of warrior lady and a book possessed by an ancient king (yes I've been playing Nier!)
I usually gather the clippings into a hairy totem of manliness second only to myself, mummify it in toilet paper or paper towel not unlike the the ancient Egyptians to their pharaohs, then set it out to sea where I shoot a flaming arrow into it from the shoreline as it sails off to Valhalla to drink with its kin. Or toss…
