Interesting seeing hand painted in action. Especially with the rise of people attempting Dota 2 assets who are out of their comfort zone. Whatever you decide to do, I'm sure it'll be well received! Your music choice is fun too :P
Thanks, I definitely need to mess with the shaders some more. The specularity is barely showing up. I was curious about programs. Do people think that 3D-Coat is more than adequate for Dota items, or are Zbrush or Mudbox worth the extra cost?
My first item for the DotA 2 workshop: A dress made of bones for Death Prophet. This took probably way too long to make, but I learned a ton from the experience. I want to make it look as professional as I can get it, so any criticism would be great! In blender's viewport: In game:
Hey there everyone. Been working on a concept for my first attempt into making a courier in dota 2 based around Outworld Devourer. Currently making the last bits of concept polish before I go into 3D modelling and wanted to see others opinions on the design before I attempt it. Any tips would be appreciated.
Finally starting a thread for my dota 2 tinkering! I enjoy trying to balance as many hats as possible-- collabing with Hunter aka hntrluc on animation, modeling and texturing my own items, as well as working to level up my concept skills. Accepted }} Submitted }}
I decided to enter this contest, I actually work only on dota 2 items. So this is the only time I do Something else. My drawing skills sucks as you will see and my modeling skills isnt very good (or good). But gotta start somewhere. So pls take a look and feed back.
Hi everyone Sorry, nut im in trouble Can someone tell me how to import tga files from http://www.dota2.com/workshop/requirements/ in blender or in any other programme? Or if you can please send me a link with actual guides about creating items for dota 2. Thanks for help.
I'm an active dota workshopper, so this will be a fun new challange. My inspiration for this hat is typical archer leather hats which i'm turning into a helmet. I know it looks like a spaceship atm. but with some sculpting and textures i'm sure it will fit right in. Starting on the bow when the helmet is done. Cheers!
Nice posing and good rythm ! The second gif is the angle that I think works better. It reminds a role-playing gameplay view, like Diablo or Dota. What could be cool is when he is protecting against the fire (sword up) he does 1 or 2 backward steps and bit disoriented.
Alright, finally another update. Now that the Dota 2 contest is over I can get back to finishing this character up. More work on the texture maps and now there are rough spec maps. Also threw on some glasses, not sure if I will keep the dirt on her face, still thinking about it.
