Wow I'm honestly quite amazed at the response I've recieved. Per many requests, I'm muted the machining in the diffuse and boosted it in the gloss. I also swapped the concrete-y metal for a new metal. Obviously much work needs to be done to the scratches but right now I'm juggling this and building a website so I apologize…
Hiya, I'm not exactly sure I know what you mean by toggle the different textures. It sounds like you want to be able to swap out the diffuse texture with the other 3 different textures. So instead of the color texture, you could have the normal map show up as the diffuse texture for example. Is this what you meant?
Pretty sure paging files are used even when RAM isn't all the way full, but I might be thinking of the Windows swap file though; which would benefit from being on a RAM disk as well. RAM disks also make it so you can use more than 4 GB's of RAM on a 32 bit machine.
I've had a MSP19U since August and have had zero problems with it The only thing that bugs me is my Stylus sometimes take a minute to wake up..but it could be I just need to swap out the battery..still has the OG one it came with. Also the Stylus is really light in comparison to Cintiq'a I'll have to try out lazynezumi
As Passerby mentioned, use UV mode and not face mode, Face mode has its place for separating uv islands or general selection, but use UV mode to display the whole mesh's UVs... if that makes sense! (sorry was trying to show that in the gif but failed ;) ) Swapping between face / edge / vert and UV mode is great once you…
Thank you very much. It was a tricky rifle to texture, since there isn't a whole lot going on with the color, other than shape. I can tone down the glossiness a bit, although according to the reference, it is spot on. There are so many variants of this. As for any kind of scope, then I have one I could swap out with the…
It seems interesting, but it doesn't seem to have that much in common with the game that drove me to buy a PlayStation. I'm not a fan of their new combat system. The facial acting bugs me and is really distracting. I hope it's spot on in Japanese and they provide English subtitles, or they rework it for English. It's going…
Heh, right. And how many gamers are going to look at a surface in Rage and go "woah, streaming megatextures!"? Of course the scenario makes sense to me and my cynical nature if I swap "people" with "investors". You can give Impressive Technical Numbers for megatextures, but a square highlight is just a square highlight.…
AFAIK the dominant lighting is done using a depth buffer in realtime using the shadow test to blend between two lightmaps (shadow/direct sunlight) and like any depth buffered shadow you get banding when a surface is near-perpendicular to the light's direction. Tilt the light so it's at a less extreme angle or swap it out…
I think you should try to make a braid-style Time-Reversal Pac-Man game. Where the ghosts move 2x faster than you, and any point in time you can reverse. (Think of it as a puzzle solving game). Then when you're done designing the level, swap the PacMa/Ghosts/Pellets graphics for something else.
