Rebaking normal bump map has worked for me with differently rotated target uvs. or maybe I imagined it? I better go check! -

Do you have baked maps set up, and in the target slots? Particle brushes rely heavily on those to actually work into your model. -

It could bake to target model with UDIM unwrap for sure but I am asking about baking from UDIM model , a hi -res one. -

Not sure about Maya but in Max it is actually more efficient(scene/filesizes -wise) to not separate head and body and reattach when doing morph targets. -

Does he a have a render target that he provided? Would help with determining if you're at the quality he/she asked you to reach with these assets. -

I read somewhere the default shaders are very fast, they're optimized for each build target, and they toss out anything not actually being used.
