So I was having a similar issue when trying to Shit+LMB on a polygon to get a polygon loop selected. It was no longer working for polygons or verts. As others have mentioned, I just take the blue channel of the top map, adjust the levels down to 128, and use the overlay blending mode. For the final map, its usually a good idea to normalize the map just to doublecheck that all the channels add up to 1. I usually use the xnormal tool to do that. That may not be why your… -

For example in Transite map, if you get to the top of the bus, you can't jump to the bus station roof, there is an invisible wall there. everything is so monochromatic man...you really want to put some depth in that, else the player will never know where he's supposed to go, maybe add some luminescent crystals and lanterns to put color variation in the lighting...everything is so brown...I can't really tell where the stone stops and the engraved thing… -
