A little stressful time, but I am trying to spend a least a couple of hours sculpting each day. Sadly I didn't had the time to adjust the issues with the male base mesh, as a private project is growing (several characters til the end of summer for a game) so I did the first two faces for major characters of the story.…
It's looking good so far, it's not really common to see these types of sights on bows, but they certainly can look badass. Since you're starting work on specular I might as well link this, which was shared on another thread recently that talks about specular for dielectric/conductor materials, which I wasn't aware of…
I've suffered from artist block tons of times. The fear of failure one rings true with me, sometimes the pressure burns me out before I even start. All the people saying "artists block, whats that?" and "just draw". Obviously some people are machines and just pump out work none stop. Good job. wish I could. I'm not a…
So I've played around with the lighting and this is more or less the best I could get out of this... I hope it's better than what it was before... trying to get shadows down on the floor for this one has proven to be quite a stressful task x___x I think I'm going to call this done for the time being unless there's any…
Seems like they all lack in basics - perspective, light perspective, construction. If you work in 3d, you should learn from it too :) Use grids and construction lines to build your spaceships. By the way you can even build a rough 3d model and overpaint on above, so at least the basic perspective and form would be solved…
Been robbed a bunch of times. Had all our bikes stollen when I was 9 but my dog got a chunk of the thief's calf, including some of the muscle :) Cops picked him and his buddies up at a bar near by (thanks to the rather badly bandaged wound hehe) but the bikes where already gone. Then we had our entire first floor cleaned…
This has been a really fun and stressful experience. Learned a lot. Especially about UE4 and ZBrush. I learned I should stick to plan and the more doesnt necessarily mean its better. I think I put too much stuff on this, modeled a lot instead of focusing and making one prop good. I'm exhausted from this diorama and I think…
Ditto Jason, a pleasure coming from yourself Snader: I first went ahead and tried to do a tangent space but I ran into some problems trying to get it looking good Marmoset. So as a workaround and stress saver I just went for the tangent space. I dont believe it would mess with animations. Only if the model deformed would…
There are only 4 of us working on our game Routine, surviving mainly on a bit of savings we have left from our jobs, we do all share a flat to keep the costs down and use the front room as our work space. We are running out of money and its stressful times indeed, I think its great that you are being cautious about it and…
Your work is fine Oxy. You don't need more schooling. Seems like you need to work on output. I think your new motto needs to be, "slow and steady wins the race". I'm rarely "in the zone". I focus on one thing at a time and do it until I'm done. I'm not a workaholic. Your work doesn't have to be perfect either. If you learn…
