Or are you using a double sided material for the helmets? A: Helmets will be knocked off as static meshes so they need to contain some geometry to prevent players from seeing through the mesh. -

actually, poly count and triangle count isn't accurate at all... If you are talking about game assets, what you looking for is the vertex count AFTER exported. A simple cube with 6 faces can contain 8 vertices or up to 24 vertices. it all depends of the UV's and smooth edges. -

Use constraints with propagation set to Angle. Use a value of 1 since its basically a flat surface. With the selection made press Ctrl+Right click -> Edges then go into "Contained Edges". With your edges selected press Ctrl+Del. That will delete selected edges and all asociated vertice alongside it. -

Do a test by instead of trying to set it immediately, in that script first list the contents of meditMaterials[2][#Maps], see what it contains. Because while you're getting the material from the scene, does that actually guarantee that… -

I haven't tried them out in a while but what about importing a Xref of a read only locked file? The last time I used Xrefs they where pretty buggy max8, but they've tried updating them several times since then. I think they call them containers now? -
