Whenever I import my items in dota workshop, the items are like 1/4th the size of original model. I keep the size equivalent to that of Valve reference files. I export as .fbx format with default settings. I'm pretty new with this stuff so any help would be appreciated.
I know this is kinda late notice but, hey I'm in Austin until the 4th! I'll be interviewing at BioWare on the 3rd. Anybody wanna meet up for a drink or 2? Austin seems to be a cool place but I haven't really had a chance to check it out; I'll definitely be doing so today and tomorrow after my interview.
The Mutant League Challenge, which I am sure a few of you are polishing away at as you read this, has had a deadline change. The new deadline is January 7th. Not a huge change, so keep polishing those polys. You don't have that much more time either way before the whistle blows.
Polycount and Epic Games are teaming up to bring you our first ever 2D concept art contest: the Unreal Tournament Master Challenge: Concept Art Head on over to the contest page for full contest details. Contest deadline: August 4th, 2014 23:59 PST (GMT -7)
it would mean that a 10,000 face model would have 30,000 verts in game where an "efficient" model could be a low as 5000, so that's "in theory" 1/6th the time to transform in the gpu (though 6 times very little is still very little) it would be considered bad practice.
One thing I would say, is that since you are using one texture, why not add a tiny bit more modeling love? I mean smooth out your round corners a bit. It's really noticeable in the 4th image.
@CrazyMoon thanks pal! i am trying to go for more of a heroic look and impliment a little bit of a style hwoever if you think its off ill gladly adjust the shoulder proportions adn some othe rproportions here and there!
Do you happen to have any in-progress shots or WIPs you can show us, to see your progression through some of these? I am particularly interested in the 4th one down in this image. Your presentation of these is pretty fantastic.
the last few, it looks like the statue is on vacation and taking pictures for post cards. All jokes aside, compositionally I like your earlier iterations better, specifically the 6th post. IT has a much better sense of scale IMO.
