My fist step would be to check out the Component Editor to see if there are any wonky weight values affecting those verts. I think there was a bug in Maya 2012 or 2013 that allowed more than 1.0 for total weight values, essentially allowing multiple joints to hold more weighting than they should have been able to.
nope, i only have 1 low rezz mesh with turbosmooth and then i added the disp modifier, and i notice any object i try to render to texture i have same issue so i give up on max 2017 and did 2013 instead :) work it like a charm!! thank you for your help
Seems to be regular behavior. Depending on what version of Maya you have, the gizmo will look different from other versions. In 2013 it just shows X/Y/Z handles with no arrows. In Maya 2016 you get the arrows plus the rotation rings. You should still be able to move your joint around. Or is this not the problem?
Little teaser of a level I did for 2013 Infected wars. All work by me. Even did the AMG logo! More to come soon, C&C very welcome Made In Softimage, rendered in UDK - Uses 1 x 2048 Level Atlas (made by hand...) 2 x 512 Tileable Terrain Textures
Actually another question (I think I figured out the issue I had above.) http://i.imgur.com/c235gqX.jpg So I can't insert an edge loop going horizontally (left to right) I am trying to copy this https://cdn.tutsplus.com/cg/uploads/2013/06/Maya_Thor_Hammer_PT1_21.jpg So is there a reason that I can't?
Thanks for your answer Jerc :) It's for a game in Unity that mean yes it will be real time performance limitations like any game, it's not for a movie like Adam (Tech Demo in Unity ) But a game AA indie with great graphics or AAA like last of us 2013 environments then should i go with 1 or 2 texture set? Thanks :)
Our development version is 10246 (not sure when this was released), if it's been fixed in more recent builds, I'll try to push to update to the latest. Thanks for the help by the way! EDIT: I've just tested in latest and it's still not working (Feb 2013). You SURE you're using the DX9 renderer? Any screens of your material…
A lot of this years games look almost too good for current consoles, from Halo 4 through Tomb Raider to AC3, so that says nothing. Gears: Judgement is announced for X360 and it's coming in late 2013 so I wouldn't expect nextgen Xboxes before 2014. That makes it kinda early for a nextgen announcement IMHO...
