fade1, sorry I forgot to mention we're stuck in maya2008 until next year so no uv pivot point snapping for the fail. Just tried this at home works great I'll just use that when we upgrade to 2009/2010 next year.
Ooooh SyncViews, that might very well be it!! Trying out all these tools is going to make for a great nerdy-artsy weekend :D Also, I'm using Max 2009 exclusively so if it works on that version of Max I'd love to give the old IllusionCatalyst a try!
removed the link, it was an artificial benchmark test (48 to 48 000 sided circle) to prove the adversary effect of thin triangles on performance NOT suggesting to use certain layouts for "caps" of low poly, with so little geometry at hands interpolation artifacts are much more dominant...
I'd say Goldeneye 007 and Super Mario 64 would fall under timeless too for your reason above. They were the first of their kind. Though Mario 64's controls were alright, Goldeneye's controls just don't hold up anymore.
i cant even install it, thats the problem, now the thing is it always start to run that at startup wich delays my 3ds max :( how do i remove the "culprit" files manually ? my 3ds max path is at c:\3ds Max 2009 .
Hmm... that is really weird. Can't say I've come across that before and I have used biped in max 2009 quite a bit. Clutching at straws here, but is there anything above the skin modifier in the stack? edit: yea, definitely check Runner's suggestion too.
WIP-001 Blockout I added a few extra things based on the model, because I though it was super duper cool. Theres this Sarcophgus like piece in the back of the immortal, I never knew what it was for but I always thought that was a really cool design choice.
I went and read the guy's ACTUAL site, and the whole September 21 2009 bit? It's a last minute edit. Towards the bottom of the site, and where this guy has all his calculations, it says that the rapture will be 2008. Something tells me his math was wrong. >:)
It depends on what version of 3dsmax you have and what type of shaders you can run. If you're using 3dsmax 2009 you can use the new composite map (metal ray material) and set the layer to multiply like you would in PhotoShop.
New trailer: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2009/03/06/fish-guns-and-knee-bashes-zeno-clash-trailer/ I'm starting to allow myself to look forward to this, now :D I had a lot of fun playing Dark Messiah, and this seems to play similar to that.
