Released Version 0.9. Bal took me a while, but I've finally got around to enable switching between 24bit and 32bit. Although I like the idea of being dynamic, I can't see myself finding time to implement it any time soon ..
Some good tutorial to learn c# in unity: http://robotduck.wordpress.com/2009/11/04/88/ http://www.youtube.com/user/BurgZergArcade#grid/user/E5C2870574BF4B06 http://www.walkerboystudio.com/html/unity_training___free__.html#unity3game2 http://www.youtube.com/user/Luciotsampacabelo#grid/user/AA4177C28BC55C2A
That same page was up on their site for the past 3 weeks though and there have been ebay auctions going on with them for at least the last few days. Anyway are you serious about selling yours? Is it a 2009 Cintiq 21ux? I might be interested if you're serious.
I think the main problem with your gem is that it's completely opaque. Standard colored glass shaders would be a good starting point. http://mentalraytips.blogspot.com/2009/11/fire-and-ice-rendering-diamonds-and.html is nice if you're rendering in Max using mental ray.
If your getting into language learning check out Anki, flash decks. It's free and you can use it on your phone/computer I found this article about learning languages really helpful as well http://fourhourworkweek.com/2009/01/20/learning-language/
Definitely check up on Keen's Batch Exporter. It saves tons of time by centering each selected object, reseting the positions to 000 (based on objects pivot point) and exporting each asset based on whatever their names are in max. http://www.keenleveldesign.com/html/misc/exporter.htm
Ah, one thing about 2012 is, it opens maximized, but isn't really maximized. Mine gets very laggy when it is like that. So I scale the window down, and maximize it properly. That gets rid of all of my lagging. But, for me, 2009 was the least buggy.
your head just seems to be a ball with the features painted on it, look into stylised heads and how they still have plane changes and form to the features(the astro boy film comes to mind http://www.blogcdn.com/blog.moviefone.com/media/2009/10/cine-astro-boy-review.jpg)
Good to know...Yeah I am using 2009 here at work. I guess baking the AO to the high res would be another option for me. Baking AOs in maya take a while in general, I usually result to xnormal anyhow...Thanks Nekked.
There's a python script to mimic shell, but I've no idea how well it works or compares since I haven't used Max in years and the script is for 2008/2009. http://highend3d.com/maya/downloads/mel_scripts/modeling/poly_tools/P3D-solidify-5727.html there's a video in there too
