Actually that's what I am doing, the last one for example used Tom Cruise as reference, I just suck at likeness^^ Taking notes and analyzing the characteristics of the face before sounds like a good idea tho :D
@Factoriesburning Yea I agree, I visited tons of Korean and Japanese Buddhist temples. It seems to be an amalgamation of different temple characteristics but not any particular region (definitely no Korean though). I wouldn't worry too much about trying to make it fit with a particular style/era.
I dunno, Sukotto, i think that it's a fantasy-style animal, much like many fantasy animals like Minotaurs for example, you're mixing human and cow characteristics. I don't see why this couldn't be much the same in that regard.
Ginger Elf Girl My second try in stylized characteristics. Here i pushed the shapes more for a more cartoony feel. I really enjoyed this one! I'll probably do a boy version of this! Maybe her twin brother?
I'm trying to create a likeness of a 15th century person, but the problem is that all contemporary portraits are... well, stylised, so it's a difficult balancing act between getting those characteristics and having her look like a plausible face at the same time.
Looks very well quality wise, but I dont really see the clock tower, its a really odd design. Also I would go with thinner pointers for the clock, the roman letters have this really characteristic thin and sharp feel, and the 2 pointers are really bulky in comparison.

The sculpt looks a bit doughy, for example the knurling looks way too soft, and the wood texture you're using isn't good it's too noisy and has little to no wood characteristics, you want something where the age rings of the wood shows.
Wow! This looks great! The whole thing is very characteristic of Darius, however his iris' are a bit distracting (not in the good way haha). They seem too bright and flat and stand out way too much because of that. Keep it up though, this looks like it's gunna turn out awesome :D
