Hi folks, just thought I'd post this ship up. Its my first attempt at producing a game asset, it stands at around 5150 polys, to be used in a wipeout style mod for UT3, theres still a bunch of stuff I'd like to add/tweak but I need to move on to some other stuff, Cheers.
First actual work post, be brutal - crit anything you see. Just finished up the lowpoly, unwrap and bake headaches tomorrow. Low-res is about 2850 tris. For an indie shooter. The magazine is pretty awful if you ask me, but it's hardly gonna get seen so I'm not too bothered.

funnily i´m playing mi1 for a week on the nokia 5800 per scummVM.. very cool :) btw.. jackblade.. you'r not putting anything in any box.. not as long as my EPIC-grey-in-grey fiends are around ;) no just kidding.. mi2 is darker and still very colorfull.. 8)
Here is the low poly with normal maps. wires. This is at 5800 tri's now. Perna pwns. I could shave more tri's off this yet just sticking to silhouettes and letting the normals do the work but I'm ready to get to texturing and dropping this in ut. Learned a ton on this one.
For 3d work get an i7 because they have hyperthreading where i5s don't. And both 220 and ati 5450 are quite bad for that price, but since you do 3d, again, get nvidia, it's supported a lot more
I dont think I have modelled a gun since 3 years ago so I just wanted to try again..... Anyway, the pc is 5855 and I think its to high for lowpoly and to low for a highpoly.It was just for practice. C&C please.
