How long has this game been in development? Is it a surprise they're still using UE3? https://youtu.be/gUfgKOgqaMA?t=1m38s at 1:38 you see the default UE3 BSP texture.
It's at 1:38, but watching again with the video slowed down I think I imagined a few things about how that worked from the late late night when I first saw it.
this one's real, though. My buddy started just put is project up on kickstarter. It's his rebound from 38 so give him some TLC, Polycount. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1031130358/flight-of-the-wisp
One of the coders back at 38 helped us come up with this exact same series of nodes. He called it 'sphere mapping' though. Dunno if that's some official technie-graphics-programmer term or not. Pretty cool stuff though!
Jon Jones wrote a nice article about being an outsource manager. See page 38 here http://gamesauce.org/pdf/2009fallgamesauce.pdf Edit... more of his stuff here http://www.jonjones.com/jons-most-popular-articles/
I got: Purchased for mom: and a whole bunch of T-38 Stuff for dad. Pilot training Videos and flight manual on DVD, 1-48 scale model, poster, art print. Now just need the GF and friends.
It was never an MMO... so I'm going to say it's just you. This is made by Big Huge Games, who was bought by 38. The project was already well underway at that point and has always been a console RPG
Holy shit, super long line for Brink. It was super fun though, totally worth the wait. Also, sat in on the BHG/38 Reckoning reveal panel.. Holy shit does that game look awesome.
I got a buddy at 38 Studios in the Boston area, I think they are still hiring for quite a few positions. I suggest checking them out sooner versus later. Your work is outstanding!
Day 38 Hammer Well its been awhile. Took a nice long break and got a new computer! Everything is running so fast. Its amazing. Anyway, I finally got around to making something real quick.
