Thank you guys! Here are some of the updated screenshots. Content pack #2 is now released and available to all patrons. https://youtu.be/GtYu363p1HM I am currently in the design stage of the next pack: Modular guns. Stay tuned!
You could do a quick level design thing with UE4 and existing props, I'd use LPV so you don't have to bake anything. Have some fancy vertex painting and modular buildings would easily impress.
Should also post some of the assets I've been working on for the scene. Here we have the first building blocks of the modular buildings. Right now I'm building the modules by floors, but is it better to position single wall modules in UDK?
I am modeling mostly from the artbook. And there is same sword, but with flat grip, but as I can see the real version is round. Now I am confused. Or maybe they just made the swords in more modular fashion I guess.
Think modular with both your textures and your models. Some examples to get you thinking: http://www.brameulaers.com/tutorials/generic_wall_tutorial/generic_wall_tutorial.html http://www.thiagoklafke.com/modularenvironments.html http://www.philipk.net/tutorials/modular_sets/modular_sets.html MOAR!…
@Darkmaster yeah Ive also used the Tortuga docks concept as my base for this piece :D Didnt keep true to the concept a 100% though ^^ Pretty simple geometry really.. alot of planes and modular pieces, alot of primitive shapes ^^
Background modular pieces are 95%done. they need some texture filling. Foreground buildings on the right are close to finished. There are some missing textures and some leftover modeling on the grocery. I'll place these things in engine when they're fully textured.
LittleClaude asked me to post up some of the modular asset work recently completed. Here are 2 shots. the scene uses 1 2k map and 2 1k's. Hope it's not too rough around the edges! My website is at www.dmnicholls.co.uk
Yup :) already started planning, and started to slowly sculpt the main statue. :] I figured I could break the main enviro into about 5-6 modular parts with different versions quite easily :D lets get it onnnn!
@Eric Chadwick Thanks Eric! It is a modular set, around 10 different pieces, which snap together. I guess my mistake was to use the same base for everything. But each has a different texture assigned to it. I will look into blending.
