Hi guys I'm new to hard surface modeling and I've been practising complex shapes since. I've got some pinching problems with this model. How do I fix this issue and the topology as well? Thanks in advance.
Additionally from the previous advice, try terminating your support loop where your model becomes more planar/flat. If you're putting a triangle/junction on a curved area/too soon of a termination - it'll pinch due to the pole.
Hey guys, I'm following a grenade tutorial and have come across a problem in a hard edge when subdividing: I'm using 3DS Max with the quad chamfer modifier in order to get the hard edge. If I decrease the value, the black pinch goes away but then I am left with a soft edge. This is the non-turbo-smoothed/non-chamfered…
Hi All, I'm trying to make this form which is part of a drill press. I'm having issues with one of the areas during smoothing after bevelling. The problem area is actually hidden in the final model, but if I know it's there then I won't be able to move on from it. Apologies for the number of images. The form before any…
You could probably add a support edge at the top. Should reduce the pinching. Maybe something like this? It's hard when you don't have the whole model, so someone else is gonna have to help you with the parts in circles.
Fingus has the solution for your pinching, 2 posts above yours. As for the other someone might come around, I haven't dabbled into any of this yet so I can't help but I am enjoying reading this entire thread.
well you said you had pinching and i also happened to notice that you have edges that split quads into tris, removing those edges would couse absolutely nothing to change with your model but will improve the quality of the turbosmooth
i agree if its pure sub'd but for sculpting a grid like structure actually saves you from having to subdivide too many times and can really help avoid pinched details mayas sub'd modelling really excells at this
Hi! i'm new to polycount. A friend told me this would a good place to ask help for topology. I've been trying to model Ribs across cylinders but there's a lot of pinching. Tried to reroute some loops but i made a mess.
I recently started a project after a very long time and I endep up where I had little geo to work with at the highpoly stage. The problem I always have on a curved surface that when I want to tighten an edge, I have this ugly pinch. I first use cut to make the loops and then collapse the tri so I have nice quads. The prob…
