I've been a long time Polyboost user and lover, and whether the creator continues to develop these tools in the future with Autodesk remains to be seen... But one thing is for sure - this is going to give 3ds Max users THE best poly modelling toolset in the industry - period - straight out of the box.
Naah, its pretty common sense and would be great if it was put in exactly like you expect it to work. Sadly I think CB's script is as close as anyone outside of Autodesk can get =/ I think you're stuck clicking on the gizmo like the rest of us...
what exactly are you aiming for here? if this is just for your personal joy, i'd just say stay away from autodesk products, grab blender. it has grown immensely over the last years, no need to pay a monthly subscription just to have a good modelling toolset.
mmh. actually i expected this. does anybody at autodesk actually use their own tools? it's hard to believe that essential things get into a release, which are a waste of time for the user and nobody from the devs has the same problem. and we are not talking about crazy physics or hair simulation. ;)
Thanks for your help, I've a lot to learn here, but the possibilities are enormous. I think I'm starting to understand Perna about the importance of max customization to fix autodesk mistakes :> It's a great tool in fact it's just so dry at first contact (well before ribbon tools that is)
Cut and bevel ala Softimage would be great. The cut tool works as expected, best of any Autodesk package in my opinion. The bevel allows number of segments, type many usefull options. Constrain vertex to edge, move a vertex along an edge like slide edge.
Sorry about the late reply, but you should be able to use this link: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/fire/certified/Pages/certified-applications.aspx?isv=Autodesk&app=All&card=FirePro%20V4800 There is only Maya 2011 listed, but you should give it a try nevertheless.
I am really liking UE4 so far and the goodies they have included with it. The materials look amazing. I am just a hobbyist and the $19 for me is not a big deal. Hell if you compare it to adobe and autodesk, you really get some amazing tools for very little.
Try delete the folder for your max in here, it might reset it. I had an issue where max didn't load anymore, deleted that folder, and it started to work again. You lose all your settings though. C:\Users\Cody\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax
Well I give up, I didn't see anything in a search of Scriptspot either. Best bet is to ask on the Discreet... cough... Autodesk forum. Someone's gotta know the answer to this seemingly basic question. If Ryno or KingofDaveness were around I'm sure they'd have an answer.
