Okay, so made some progress today on the Guide bust model. Tried to fix some of the gooey-ness going on with the rope necklace thing along with trying to define some of the cloth folds better. If you guys have any more crits, I'd appreciate it! Also had to start polypainting this guy for a class. So let me know if you have…
Amazing stuff, can't wait to see the final result! As afisher & eedobaba7726 pointed out,the face should have softer shapes, but they already covered all the adjustments. Besides that, I love how the textures are coming along. Keep up the good work! I'll keep a close eye on this thread. Btw. did you use polypaint to create…
If you import it as a subtool, it shouldn't move with your current one (although it will rotate/scale/etc to match the 'camera'). If you want it absolutely static you can snapshot it to the document, use an image of it on the grids, or have it in the background and lower the opacity of zbrush. You can also give the subtool…
Yep, just the hallway, including that biog skull lamp thing on the end. The three of us never really did any environments so we figured we should start small to see if it works out. Also, started working on the pillar. Polypaint is totally not final, I'll probably just use it as reference for texturing later on. Crits more…
are you using the guruware obj importer for max? you might get better results with that. another option might be to use "projectall" in the subtool menu. import your new mesh with good uvs and subdivide it as much as the other one. make it a subtool of your old model and then hit "projectall". i'm not really sure if your…
Hey and thank you so much for testing it ;-)!! Well, if we have the vertex colour, could we make a map in marmoset of it? Or do we have to unwrap the model before in zbrush and THEN first polypaint it? I try to understand, if i can avoid making an unwrap in zbrush and only use the vertex colour quick for presentation in…
Thanks @kanga! I'll try not to disappoint. I turned off the polypaint so that I could see forms a bit better. I forgot how distracting color can be. The face was looking a little squished, so I pulled the chin down a bit. Do you guys have any tips on how I can push this further or where I might begoing wrong? Thanks o/
You could try out several of the automatic UV options / UV Master inside zbrush to see if any of them would produce suitable results. It shouldn't take long to test. You could also try saving the mask as polypaint data by filling it in with black RGB. You'll only be able to store one mask this way, but if that's all you…
Hiya guys thanks for the great responses :) . Yeah the mats atm are on the bottom of the list. Modeling first and then focus to improve materials/polypainting. I do agree with you Jade. it could be made a bit more prominent but i think it's the fear of a first model. Never having used Zbrush before and the different…
cross post from your Facebook post: RS Grey Resin for the block. I switch for other stages like polypainting and presentation. I try to stay consistent with the material I use while sculpting so that I can guarantee that I get consistency across my sculpts. Some materials have deep or shallow cavity detail that will…
