Looks like shattered UVs. Common issue that was fixed with the Guruware exporter, then broken again once Autodesk put it into max as a default exporter. If you have a file before you exported from Max, use that low poly and your uv's should't be broken anymore.
Where can I find my user files? I removed everything related to max following this: http://knowledge.autodesk.com/search-result/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-perform-a-clean-uninstall-of-an-Autodesk-product.html As a matter of fact this is ridiculous, it is also happening in Max 2014!
tried searching on youtube? that's the only thing we can do as well. Look here. http://cgcookie.com/max/category/tutorials/modeling/page/7/ http://cg.tutsplus.com/category/tutorials/autodesk-3d-studio-max/ Follow what Mark said, start small.
This happen to me just now and It sucked ass! The normal feature did work. How do I get smoothing information back? uhg, damn you Autodesk! Can I transfer one previously saved .obj's or max files smoothing groups to another?
Oh yeah, Carl did the influential UV Help MAXScript back in the day, a decent Relax tool before Autodesk fixed theirs. Looks like cool stuff. Similar tech has been discussed before. A search for "tesselation" will dig up more threads.
Yes, I wanted to model in meters but did it in centimetres so I had to scale up by 100. I don't get why fractional beveling doesn't work with small bevels because it should just work with percentages but maybe Autodesk isn't getting this either
But i don't wannaaaaaaa. I don't understand how Autodesk can even call max feature complete at this point, it boggles my fucking mind. I swear, i need to shake off this severe case of stockholm syndrome i have with this garbage software.
Sylvanas Windrunner Autodesk maya, mentalray Photoshop Sylvanas if property of Blizzard! I know; the walls are not a 100% replica of the room in World of Warcraft. The goal here was something a bit more simplistic, but still able to convey the general idea of the room and the character.…
Probably, since Havok is actually a company and it sounds like they bought the company. Hopefully they still remain pretty open to whatever company needs their support, IE Sony v Microsoft/ I'm usually slightly wary of company buyouts after what Autodesk did to Softimage.
Decoyz, what are you seeing in their creasing module that isn't in the 2014 one? I always thought Autodesk just took the Pixar tool and added it to the latest versions of 2014 (that video is from April). I'm pretty sure the tools are the same, it's just the subdivision model that is different.
