Hello, I'm new and here is my 1st thread. I made this axe to practice my Zbrush skill, as I'm more confortable in hard surface things. I'm open to criticisms/feedback to improve the quality of my work. I think I've too many tri, but it was not really the purpose of this exercice. As I'm a student, it could be a portfolio…

Here's my 1st WIP on Cho'Gath. I'm trying to retain the main shapes of the new concept while removing any unwanted noise. I'm also keeping the look of the old Cho'Gath in mind to avoid loosing what defines him. I am still finalizing the blocking and i'll be moving to detailing shortly.
thanx for the feedback, did stick with the 1st Version! - added some detail and cleaned up the drawing. - played around with a little bit of a cold/warm gradient for the background - added some patterns and halftone print effect next I think I'll project the design onto the 3D-Model to check if it works on the mesh.
Argh, these things are still soooo expensive, even if they plan to release a 2nd gen cintiq I can't afford the 1st gen ones :< I'm hoping courier or ipad 2.0 will have pressure sensitivity and some decent specs. If not, atleast they could help to push the price of new wacoms and cintiqs into my range.
you can use the same uv's overlapping, but there could be some issues. 1st, do not trust your viewport on 3ds max, maya etc. Secondly, try to flip the normals on the mirrored side.Or try to flip the whole uv island in this particular case. And make sure these 2 sides are in the same smoothing group
