resident evil is a horror game. So my guess is that there's lots of darkness? Also if you've got specular highlights they'll help fill in the high end detail. However all of this is very dependent on your lighting system. Some systems do not like dark textures.
@Eric Chadwick the point with bringing up the reputation system was that people will always abuse systems that don't punish them for it. Maybe make it so you guys can get a list of posts that got deleted that way. At least that would prevent trolls from destroying discussions.
I was gonna say I used Max at an old job for quite a while, the default UV system seemed ok but I felt was stronger with something like Textools. The updates for Max over recent years (I think 2011 and upwards) made the UV system a lot better though!
Not the win7 DVD it sounds like thats fine, but the actual DVD hardware drive does it read the disc if you pug the hardware into another system that's already running windows? How about putting another DVD drive in the new system, maybe an old IDE drive if you have one?
I would guess powersupply or connections, as it's been mentioned earlier. The reasons for my questioning was to see if something external could be causing it. If it's reseting on it's own (with nothing but power), then the power could be dropping out. Doe the enclosure have any sort of fan? Maybe there is a cooling system…
Imo the cover system is MUCH BETTER than gears, you're not locked in, in gears its sooo easy to jsut stuck in cover its not even funny. Vegas's cover system is damn near perfect IMO. The bloom really isnt what bothers me its the retinal response crap.
They have, its just that GA.org use the entry system to auto-create threads for their entries (like they do with just about every comp on their forum). The system still isn't up and running which is why they don't have threads yet, but they definitely have entrants :P -caseyjones
Muzz: Yes, the Agile system is great. The art team at Mythic was transitioning over to it and while it was a bit rocky at first we really started hitting our stride. Seems like alot of the studios I've talked to have begun using the Agile system for their art teams as well.
after i put my system together online i spoke with a representative over their chat system. I just asked if there was any discounts or rebates that could be applied to help out with the purchase. He played around for a minute and then gave me the new figures. Pretty easy.
Considering I wrote two particle systems (I'm not talking about effects, I wrote entire systems for handling those effects) by hand and know how they work inside and out, I'd be perfectly suited for a job doing that stuff. Now if only I weren't 16...
