WIP based on a concept by my buddy erkan karagoez (https://www.artstation.com/erkann) I want to rig and turn him into a realtime character and texture and render him in Substance...
It's just baked shadows, right ? Or are you "dynamically" baking them? It would be epic if you actually had access to the realtime Zbuffer but that seems like a very far cry...
It would bake ... but i won't look like fur. You'll have to use proper realtime techniques to create a fur effect. Sorry, no quick and easy solution here!
If it's not going to be realtime, then your density is fine, but you might want to take another look at your poly flow and distribution around the joints if you're going to animate this guy.
Houdini has the ability to export animations as textures for a realtime vertex shader. It would handle this problem pretty well I think. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgMLGMaCUOU
It should read "Brawl Competition - Unreal Engine - Realtime DX11 environment that Laurens Corijn and I worked on." You should probably also explain what the Brawl Competition was.
