oh and nice environment map, but i think you need to turn it down more on the tires, they seem very CG. Also the environment map doesn't seem to match the scene. BTW what glass shader are you using, it rocks!
And people are already complaining about all games looking the same in the current ("next-gen") generation... if this really becomes the norm be ready for a hole new LEVEL of "looking the same" (and in the beginning also probably very sterile and "that CG rendered" look).
Does anyone know of a program or a way with photoshop to manipulate images using math like you would in a pixel shader? I'm looking to manipulate big images with functions like POW and FRAC but I dont know how to do it without using a .cg shader in realtime.
This is impressive - http://marza-realtime.com/ More details here - http://www.marketwired.com/press-release/marza-revolutionizes-cg-animation-rendering-with-unity-2106574.htm https://www.youtube.com/watch?list=PLlyT6eQOyOobKCIQAnB9-pQ_NDWGvDBDn&v=tVHH3-bP-fE
This is definitely coming along nicely :) The amount of detail is really building up! There are still some materials such as the metallic objects that are looking a bit too clean and CG at the moment, but it wouldn't be too hard to add a bit more surface detail and grunge.
Ok I went with the second one. Hope I chose right. Here is a status update. Still unsure with pushing it this "Disney" CG direction if I'm making it too detailed. Especially with the odd proportions of the cartoon. (The Hair is a stand in fwiw)
Peoples eyes tend to have a slight shadow on the top rim of their eyeball, I'm not sure if its just a shadow from the eye lashes, but it makes the eye intergrate with the eye lid a lot better, and looks 10x less cg that way.

i feel you man. 3D art is easily the only thing (aside from my family) that brings me pure joy and the dream gets me through my horrendous non-cg day job. keep on grinding!
