Some are nice some are bad but each one you have to start from scratch and learn their format. I've used Topogun in the the past. Overall I think it works pretty decent, although it did have issues especially if I was working in a thin area of the model (it appeared to get confused where to place the vert and sometimes it would end up out in space somewhere).
