I assume the Gibson comparison is more one about realism than historical accuracy. Details aside, Braveheart comes across as a fairly believable depiction of warfare in 13th century Britain. 300, on the other hand, is comic book stylization through and through. I wouldn't count on any Hollywood film to correctly inform me… -
