windows experience index is based on the slowest component (ram, hdd, cpu OR video) in the system. Obviously your video card wasn't the slowest component int he system, hence the index didn't change. Although this index is pretty much useless. Stick to eld's advice. -

I don't have the fastest computer I would like, it lags a little I loaded a 6 million mesh into Maya and used maya retopology tools. Clean your system, config files etc, believe me, a stable system can do alot. -

I tend to by complete systems form dell/hp/sony aso. bc they are more stable, proven component combinations and more heat efficient for less price so I hope you give use some feedback after you've set up the system :) -

I'm curious about whether the haptic feedback is worth the extra cost. The last I checked the system was $2750. while a seat of Zbrush 2 would be just under $500. Add a new Wacom tablet and you're at $1000-1200. Is it any more productive a system? -
Building new rig, what do you guys use?
Howdy, Im currently looking into getting a new system here for modeling and rendering, and I have mixed responses from people. What kind of system do you guys have? Will applications such as Photoshop CS.2, Maya 8.0, Zbrush, 3DS, recognize 4gigs of RAM? Or is that a waste? -

Don't tell me to be "smarter than that" or that "I'm above the system now". I'm honestly not even going to bother discussing this with you. Valve isen't forcing anyone to make skins, if you don't like the way the system works, don't make skins. -

One thing to keep in mind is the fact that most exhaust systems collect together before the exhaust actually exists the system. It helps balance the back pressure between cylinders and keeps the engine running a bit smoother. Also... what, no fuzzy dice? :D -

MacOSX on pc's isn't near useful right now. no real apps have been ported to work with x86 based systems. I still think it's somewhat stupid for apple to try and limit their systems to their hardware only, only hurts them in the end. -
