Timed it by converting it to a Python script (same thing - just fires a list of commands) and timed it using clock() from the time module... took 55 seconds for my mesh. That's with seal holes on, but there's no speed difference between having that option on/off.
MmtoKey is great...maps context sensitive marking menues to a single hotkey. Very powerful. Creative case is making python scripts lik3 Shell Mod for modeling panels. And Hard Mesh is released...kinda like Mesh Fusion for maya
Great clever automation. Obviously I mean setting the hi-poly list once and forever per object. Or a group maybe. Or - Blender would need a way to access objects in external scene files from inside a Python script.
@EricChadwick: oh thanks for the doc, I will check out that right now! @Lamont : Yup purely challenge again and wishing to learn new stuff. I will give a look at the Maya-Python exporter once I`ll done mine!
The current version of MakeHuman is WYSIWYG, you only need to press ALT-P in the python window (Shift-F11) to run it. Comes with a .blend that'll make it even easier.
gah cant lose you to the darkside of maxscript haiddasalami, your so dam helpful already with the ton of python and mel questions for maya i asked already hehe.
Yep - that's the benefit. Scale and sightlines are the biggest problem when you're working in maya/max - you just can't get a decent representation of what it's like to move around like the player does. The tool is all doable in blueprints and fairly simple python for the maya half (you're just dumping transforms for…
I know this is a bit old by now, but I've been trying to recreate iridescence like a Boelen's python or Brazilian rainbow boa would have, would this shader work for that or do you possibly have some suggestions on how to achieve that effect?
Yeah it was easy to install. Laggy though so I reverted to classic textures but the fancy shaders. You want hard? Try installing the Python based mods for Oblivion. Took me hours to work that one out. Also server be dowwwwwn.
