Crap I actually did this the other day and forgot to post! This is a little simpler instruction wise, but same concept. The distortion texture isn't perfect either, thus stretching it really wide open would give an uneven circle. But for smaller values as demonstrated in the image, it works good enough. Hope this helps!
Is the image with the red circles your low poly? If so, there's a ton you can take out on that, namely all the circular bits and supporting geo for the bevels. In first person, very little of that is seen or is needed for the profile. Also, the lower two circular bits look like they sink pretty far into the surface.
you can make it by hand fairly easily. Draw out splines in the shapes you want the vines to grow, then loft another shape (circles usually) along that to get the basic branches. Make up a leaf or 3, and clone them along the path, rotate a few to get some variation, etc.
Thank you, this really does help. I was mainly trying to keep it quads are for example i cant really extrude and bevel in that circle with the closed point as it messes up, is it actually viable for me to just use a different object that the main model? and subdivide that seperate? i'll be sure to note that thread for…
Yep you're both right. Polish by crisp edges (with "empty" circle option) gives a similar result as claypolish smooth without affecting the topology. + a little relax to ease artefacts. Looks very fine to me. This dynamesh technic is really robust. Works every time where i'm not sure CAD fillet/meshfusion would.
Actually I also need a bit of assistance. Trying to figure out what the boxes circled in red could be, my guess is small storage boxes for placing vinyls and cassettes into. Also, what kind of keywords should i use when looking for reference images of radio transmitters (also in red )on the tables and on the filing…
The facetopology looks bad man to be honest. I can see you made the face out of a box, because now it just looks like a box in a shape and few circles around the eyes and mouth. Take a look at this example and how its devided in groups; http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/818/headtopology.jpg/ Hope this works!
The icing is too perfect for a human to have applied; the outer surface and the eyes are perfect circles, and the edges in the mouth are razor sharp. Also, instead of cutting out the eyes & mouth, consider using candy drops or a different color icing. The icing can be fairly smooth (certainly smoother than in the above…
Your not alone, My team mate Frank loves the back of trucks so he made this music video featuring lots of back ends of trucks, do you think I should be worried or is this just the circle of life? 50 seconds in if you want to cut to the chase. www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkpVaHHkF0M&feature=youtu.be
Ah yes, I see that looking back, sorry about that. What was in my head didn't quite match reality. Also yeah, we're probably just going around in circles here now. =P If we had this conversation in person we would probably completely agree with each other, ah text is a fickle medium.
