Jup Warren is Right Something that for helped me a lot, when I was "learning" how to make vehicles I just started making lowpoly car studies and gave myself a limitation of 2500 tris And just tried to catch the main characteristics of the vehicle
I have the same issue with movies and series, where suddenly they change an actor for a character, its just off putting imo. You have identified the character with these and these characteristics. I hated that in sequels of movies, where the main character was suddenly a different guy.
I think your low poly can use improvement to their faces. Their high-res counterpart has quite nice faces, although maybe lacking characteristic, but the low-res' faces are kinda plain and bland.
Did some work on the texture. Had some problems with the greenish metal, but I think it went well. Still a lot to go (rework the rusted leaks, add some more characteristics/story elements etc.)

Looks great! Nice texture. As for the animation, I would suggest something simple but characteristic. Something like him struggling holding a boulder on top of his head, knees bent really about to launch it. Just out of curiosity, what school is this that your attending?
Haha! You guys are great! @gsokol yeah I kept the nose to give him all the human characteristics they don't have like a nose and ears. I think they nailed it with their original design not giving them these features.
I created this thread mostly for the discussion, its often better to work smarter, rather than work harder. Just was curious about techniques and practices everyone has. Even if it isn't a "real" disorder, there is a large number of people with there characteristics and these people work a little differently.
Thank you! :D hehe, well I put a shorter tail in the Leader design to have a resemblance with the minion alien. Both have similar characteristics to give the sensation that they are part of the same specie. Also there are a lot of examples of aliens with tails :D ... the most famous one:
it is so fun to squeeze all the defining characteristics of these cars into almost a cube form factor, all these cars look like we took regular sized ones and made them out of clay and squeezed them to be short and fat, can't wait to see them in the game!!!
