After two crashes in Maya, I've managed to finish the high poly film canisters thus far. Soon I should be getting the room I'm gonna work on and then I'll make up a quick concept so you all can see what I envision of XOi's room.
With the texturing a very grimey urban feel, something looking similar to brooklyn or so. For the lighting I want to get an intense mist/snow mid nov sort of time. Managed to do wonders with the UDK imports now just for texturing, will hopefully have some more screens up soon.
I didn't actually keep track of how long that took, I'd guess a total of 4 hours :/ . Did a fruit study today! Was a lot of fun, I did this one from a pictures, I'll have to do one from life soon. This one took about 1hr & 45min.
Thanks for the crit! Yeah I guess some of those brush strokes look pretty coarse. As for the Monkey, I'm kind of sick of him..so I'm not fixing him for now. I'm currently working on a new project that I will post some pictures of as soon as I have something presentable.
will do soon I've got flats and stuff for some of the props that I made. I need to fix the spec on this just haven't gotten around to it :P The post which is barely visible ^^ all textures for props are at 512 the fence is 512x256 and 256x256 will get some other stuff up tomorrow.
Awesome gonna give it a go. Got some side 3d freelance projects I am doing but soon I can complete my build. For now its good old ps3 and xbox 360 and my laptop for modeling. Honestly modeling on my laptop hasn't been that bad.
Thanks everyone for taking the time to try and help me :) EricChadwick: Yeah, bit of a bad title, about the modo smoothing link thats what i have tried. MightyPea: Will post it soon :) PredatorGSR: I forgot to add that i use xNormal, since modo does not support cages.
Welcome aboard! And yea like Zwebbie said, Blender's due for a new build soon. Past that Id maybe try Nevercenter Silo and/or Luxology Modo as low cost (comparatively) alternatives to the 'big' packages. This might be up your alley also: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=74849
Thanks guys, and thanks for the long post jocose. I will do some more work on it soon and see what I can come up with using your crit :) I hope I will not need to draw again during my time at Uni, as 3D is more my thing lmao
Thanks guys, yeah the gold was giving me some pretty big issues at first then I got it to here, anyone have any advice on doing a nice gold. @Sebvhe I am going to try that out and see how it comes out, and will post another pic really soon.
